Our clothes and fabric are sourced and made in China. China produces 70% of the world's hemp fabric and Australia is yet to spin fibre into yarn so that we can produce textiles from industrial hemp. So, until that happens, it is more economical for us to make in China where hemp is grown and spun into yarn to make fabrics.

So comfy you'll want to live in it, hemp is one of the most durable and economically viable all-natural threads.

One of the biggest reasons we have chosen to use hemp for our unisex apparel is due to the fact that industrial hemp has the potential to clean the atmosphere and protect the environment and even reverse the damage done to it. Dubbed the 'King of Carbon Sequestration' industrial hemp absorbs 4 times more CO2 than trees! It takes as little as 90 days to cultivate and requires significantly less water than cotton. Hemp supplies its own nutrients to the soil, which replenishes its fertility, and needs no toxic chemicals, pesticides or insecticides in order to grow.

It is truly the most impressive super fibre. The fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters in the world which is why it's so important we wake up and stop the cycle of fast fashion and choose to use fabrics that are durable, comfortable and planet friendly. Hemp has natural antibacterial and anti-fungal properties which means our hemp clothes are stink proof (yes we've put them under the stink test) and a great choice for people with allergies or sensitive skin.

Hemp fabric is highly breathable and also moisture wicking, absorbing up to 20% of its own weight while still feeling dry to the touch.

These qualities blow our mind and we, alongside a growing number of hemp supporters, are determined to not only revive the industrial hemp industry, but also ensure that it flourishes... forever.

Hemp is extremely durable and actually an ancient textile. It has been used for centuries to make all kind of products like rope, ship sails, textiles and building materials. It is naturally UV resistance and 8-times stronger than cotton. It actually gets softer with use and is naturally antibacterial which makes it a great fabric for people with sensitive skin and allergies. We launched our first clothing capsule in 2021 and we're happy to say that the products have washed extremely well, retained their shape and will be great to wear for many years to come!

We source our clothing from Hemp Fortex who share our values on creating sustainable fabrics that are of premium quality. The are based in China and manage the whole supply chain from growing hemp in their own fields, to fibres, to spinning yarn and creating fabrics and lastly garments. Whilst we would love to be able to do this in Australia, and the industrial hemp industry is on the rise, we don’t have the infrastructure to spin the fibre into yarn yet, so until this happens, we will still need to source our hemp fabric offshore.

Hemp fabric is an amazing super-fibre. It is natural, durable, strong, yet soft and comfortable. Our garments are made to stand the test of time. We have been vigorously putting them through their paces and basically doing everything you shouldn’t do to your clothing… like repeatedly machine washing on hot cycles and throwing them into the dryer [cringe!] Amazingly resilient, these test garments have bounced back over and over again to their original form.

Whilst that is great to know, we want you to prolong your garment’s life cycle as much as possible. To do that, we recommend you try to follow these care instructions:

Wash the garment inside out to protect the print. Machine wash on a cold, gentle cycle. Wash with like colours. Do not bleach it or soak. Do not use fabric softener - the fabric is soft enough! Try not to tumble dry and dry straight after washing with print opened flat. Use a cool iron (if needed). Do not iron over the print. Do not dry clean.

A snow wash is a unique process where once dyed, our garments are placed in a large vat filled with pumice stones. No water is used during this process. The garments are then rotated around with the pumice stones. After about 15 minutes, the colour is worn away from the friction points on the garments. This gives each garment a unique, distressed look which we love and apply to all of our garments.

We use Oeko-Tex 100 certified low impact fibre reactive dyes to dye our hemp clothes. Reactive dyes are a sustainable and eco-friendly option for textile dyeing. They chemically react with natural fibres like hemp, cotton, silk, and wool to form a strong and permanent bond, resulting in brighter and more vibrant colours that require less dye. Reactive dyes are also less toxic and do not contain heavy metals, which can harm the environment and textile workers. When used and disposed of properly, reactive dyes are not toxic and offer a more effective and sustainable option for textile dyeing.
